Determines the dialing method of the administrative E&M port. The dialing method refers to the sound that occurs when the user enters each digit of the dialing code. Options: dtmf (1): (Dual Tone Multifrequence) uses bursts of frequency pairs to identify the code the user dials. Tones are generated at a level of -7 plus or minus 3 dBm for the lower frequency groups and -5 plus or minus 3 dBm for the higher frequency group. The power level of the higher frequency tone is intentionally increased to compensate for the higher line loss. pulse (2): uses bursts (10 plus or minus 0.5 pps) of the main tone frequency (2280Hz) to generate the codes the user enters. Tones are generated at a level of -4 to -30 dBm for the 2280Hz frequency. The number of pulses during one second indicates the code the user dials. With the E&M interface, the voice station generates and detects pulses. mfR1 (3): R1 signaling protocol MultiFrequency (MF) uses bursts of frequency pairs to identify the code the user dials. Tones are generated at a level of -7 dBm0 +- 1 dB (CCITT Recommendation Q.322). The difference in transmission level between the two frequencies comprises a signal that does not exceed 0.5 dB. mfR2 (4): R2 signaling protocol MultiFrequency (MF) uses bursts of frequency pairs to identify the code the user dials. Tones are generated at a level of -8 dBm0 +- 1 dB (CCITT Recommendation Q.454). The difference in transmission level between the two frequencies comprises a signal that does not exceed 1 dB.
