Normally, the Management Module installed in the cabinet with the lowest serial number (BIA) in the lowest (leftmost) slot that has fully established network connectivity will be selected as the Primary. Setting WantPrimary to yes(1) causes this device to be preferred over all devices with a WantPrimary value of no(2) during these Primary/Standby negotiations. If more than one device is configured with the value yes(1), these modules negotiate amongst themselves using the default rule above. Setting WantPrimary to always(3) causes the module to ignore the results of the negotiations and immediately and persistently assert primary status. Use of always(3) is not recommended except on advice of Transition Networks technical support, since it may cause your system to behave unpredictably. Setting more than one module in a stack to always(3) will cause erratic behavior.
